New Yorkers are rallying this morning to fight for more trees. Over 50 Forest for All NYC organizations are fighting for two bills. One would require the city to consider trees in its long-term planning. The other, which would create an urban forest plan to add more trees could be up for a vote today if activists get their way. Emily Maxwell, the director of the nature Conservancy is New York city program spoke to us about the overwhelming support people from every background orientation and sector care about trees in New York city and that’s what makes them a winning issue and a winning investment among those tree lovers the US Department of agriculture, which announced over a billion dollars in grant money for planting trees across the country.
