Take a brisk stroll through some of Hell's Kitchen's 15 parks & gardens, as time allows. Tell us your tree story and get your daily steps in on this informal, tree canopy- and community-building walk. We'll identify some trees and talk about NYC's Urban Forest plan. Wear comfortable walking shoes.

Indigenous Wisdom: Saving Trees and Beyond

Hear from Shinnecock tribal citizen Chenae Bullock, who shares her perspective on Indigenous ecological wisdom. Going beyond preserving trees, Indigenous knowledge offers holistic understandings of regenerative living that are profoundly relevant in today’s world.

Bullock, owner of Moskehtu Consulting, is the curator of BBG’s exhibit Ohkehteau (Plants of the Earth): A Shinnecock Oral History.

Enter at any public entrance and proceed to the Auditorium (enter at Magnolia Plaza). Seating opens at 2:45 p.m. Registration required. Capacity is limited, free talk ticket is required. This event is part of City of Forest Day.
