Explore the “Art of Trees” at 6/15 Green Community Garden as part of City of Forest Day! Art throughout the garden, live participatory drawing, cyanotype workshops, community conversations, and performances that probe the ecological, historical, botanical, and cultural significance of trees, encourages mindful looking and listening to nature, and offers creative perspectives to consider our relationships with the surrounding environment.
Engage with the epic weeping willow tree at 6/15 Green, one of the “Great Trees” of NYC, through live participatory drawing with Sarah Olson. Join Khadija Kamara for community conversations on “Trees and Herbs of the Caribbean” and the migration of trees. Create your own art in cyanotype workshops with Pierre Mercier-Puccio. Learn more about the artists and how their work offers creative perspectives in how we think about and interact with trees on exhibition tours with curator Alyssa Fridgen.
