Celebrate the First City of Forest Day in Prospect Park This Weekend

By Susan de Vries | Brownstoner

Revel in the beauty of fall in Brooklyn’s backyard with a day focused on the city’s urban forest. The Prospect Park Alliance is celebrating the very first City of Forest Day with events focused on promoting the importance of trees in the life and health of the urban environment.

On Saturday, October 15 you can volunteer to help cleanup the scenic Lookout Hill, rake some leaves near the Audubon Center, take a nature walk to learn more about the life of trees, go on a guided history walk through some woodlands and take a calming meditation hike. Events run from 10 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. and exact times for each activity, registration information and other details can be found online.
