iDig2Learn, Main Street Theatre & Dance Alliance & Coler Celebrate Roosevelt Island’s Urban Forest at Lighthouse Park

We’re celebrating City of Forest Day! Come enjoy the 100 new baby trees at Lighthouse Park on Roosevelt Island as we celebrate our urban forest. All are welcome. Start the day at 11am with tree stewardship and a community compost mulching activity led by Gil Lopez from Big Reuse as we blanket our existing trees and enrich the soil.

DUE TO RAIN please join us at Good Shepherd Church, 543 Main Street for a 12:30pm hat painting art activity with artist George Krassas from Coler Hospital (Good Shepherd, downstairs) and a mesmerizing 45 minute dance performance from 2pm – 2:45pm by Jody Sperling’s Time Lapse troupe (Good Shepherd, upstairs).
